There's this game put out by the American Girl company called "300 Wishes"--I really like playing it because then I get to marvel, "Wow, it's like I'm a real live American girl who has 300 wishes, and that doesn't suck, especially compared to being a dead one with none."

  1. School -that is the regular kind -starts here on September 2nd and with it, Maya will enter kindergarten. A big move for her that she had been looking forward too until last Thursday, the last day of her preschool program. It was then she learned she will be minus her "pals" -all her friends from her preschool program and now, she doesn't want to go to kindergarten after all, or so she says.
But the chalk -around here, Maya could go through that in nothing flat! And the sidewalks would all be totally chalked over in wild, glorious colors!
    Peace.

  2. Where's my candy?

Will be forwarding this ultra creative game to my kiddos. We have one WEEK before school starts and I no longer have any hair left on my head to pull, or any other hairy parts of my anatomy, if you get my drift.

    Luv the big die!

  3. I wanna come plaaay!!! What a creative idea!

Oh, and I hopped over to YouTube so I could watch the video fullscreen and what did I find? Two other cute videos that have not yet made an appearance in blog world!

    Such an adorable family!

  4. I live in the exact same kind of neighborhood. Of late I have to be careful to close my garage door if I have something to accomplish. Otherwise a cute and precocious 6-year old appears in my kitchen to "help." Which is okay sometimes, just not all the time.

  5. That's great that their using their imagination that way!

I would use the chalk to draw giant murals on the ground.

  6. I don't remember being big into chalk, but one of my favorite things to do with chalk was to rub it over a big spot so that I could cover my hands in the dust. I may have also eaten chalk once… or twice.

  7. Awesome video. I sent it to my daughter. That could have been her house, her sidewalk, her neighborhhod. Right down to the Littlest Pet Shop toys.

  8. that is really the coolest idea for using up sidewalk chalk. i LOVE it! groomeo gets the pot of gold for that idea.

and…please may i move into your neighborhood? i'd like to join games like that. once everyone is tuckered out i will give story hour.

can i just tell ya i soooo miss being in a neighborhood and having that sense of community.

  9. THAT ROCKS. Our neighbourhood is choc full o kids and they all play together (at least the ones in close proximity to us). I love it. The kids love it. I will have to do this with our chalk. Groomeo is a keeper and dang it, Paco is the spitting image of him.

  10. Why can I not see anything except a great big white cube?

School orientation today [plus psychologist for 2] what a fun day.
    Cheers

  11. Brilliant kids! We homeschool so we could play and play that game until the rains came. Tell all your kids "great job" and awesome use of chalk! Kim
