What a treat to read her story once again. She is a beautiful, soul-full young woman. Her eyes radiate intelligence and heart. You are all so, so lucky to be together in your little family. Happy birthday to her…and to you and Byron, her parents, who have obviously loved her into being.

Happy birthday, Allegra! What a beautiful name for a beautiful young woman. Each year, this birthday post reminds me how long I’ve been reading your blog! Time really does fly.

I like how you add to her post each year–the story is too good to only read once and she is special stuff.

Happy belated birthday Allegra, overly cute at two, now facing the teens!Hooray!

  5. Since I’m an old-timer here, I do remember this. I don’t know if I told you then that my first was also originally a twin? But his brother was quietly reabsorbed by my body, so no trauma emotionally. Certainly not like the two real miscarriages I had. I don’t think anyone can prepare you for those.

A very happy birthday to the new teen.

I had a gush of bleeding during the first trimester with my third kid, and I have always suspected that I lost his twin (especially given that twins are rampant in my family). Thank you for sharing your lovely story, even the sad parts. You’re right, nobody talks about the “everyday” miscarriage.

Your daughter is lovely, and sounds like a lovely soul. Love the progression of pictures.

It is to be awed once again by the awesomeness of your writing and Allegra’s soul. She looked a bit like Byron in the early years but now she looks like herself. Love to you all 🙂
