Shortcutting

“Shortcutting”

Because we’re on a limited Internet plan here at the house, I’m taking the quick way to show you pictures of our new abode.  I put a gallery of photos up on our Family Blog that is linked to my husband’s comic blog (his comics are at http://www.layingfallow.com/).  So if you follow this link, you can see pix of the joint:

My husband also put up an audio file of the Call to Prayer that blares six times a day right above our heads, so if you have time, scroll down to previous posts and give it a listen.

Enjoy!  I’m hoping to get around to visiting blogs and doing some actual writing in the next bit here…  Do know how very much I’m enjoying the comments and the continued feeling of community in the blogosphere during this time when we know so few people.  Thanks, y’all.

Your house is breathtaking. Some of your hubby's captions are a hoot: "Can you smell the donkey yet" being my favorite.
Even so, it's like a beautiful nightmare to me; all too familiar as I previously posted. My heart stays with you. I hope you settle in nicely and find happiness in your new home. Hugs. xo d

Great pictures. I am so glad I can picture in your Turkish quarters. And in a (relatively) modern kitchen.

The audio is so cool–though I'm not sure how I'd feel about it at 4:30 a.m. (Actually, I am sure and it is NOT good).

The house is fantastic and the fact that your kids will have all these blog posts to show their kids is amazing.

Your house is GORGEOUS! Alas, I could not smell the donkey (perhaps I was upwind), but the view of the volcano from your terrace is breathtaking. Y'all done good. Now, have some fun.

Groom does more than okay in the blog department (meaning, you have a bit o' competition)–love the title!

Just to be clear: the comics part of the blog is my husband's, but the Family Blog has posts from all of us, and the photos and captions are a Jocelyn Production! I must have forgotten to change who the author was on that post…

I can imagine that you are all a-flutter with ideas for renovating the Duluth house, with Ari Onassis inspired door paintings, etc.

all the while I am enjoying the photos and the enlightening text I find myself wondering, who the heck is Haakon, Allegra and Byron ?? takes a few minutes until I am overwhelmed with the AHA feeling, recognising Paco, Girl and Groom… phew, what a relief :o)
